Right now the meds in our family take up the dining room table. I take 4 to 6 and my husband perhaps 20 or 30. I appreciate having somebody telling me when to take medications. And I don't have to say 'I wonder if it's correct.'

Home is the new site of care

Care is moving to the home at an increasingly rapid pace and non-traditional players are placing big bets and developing in-the-neighborhood and in-the-home strategies. How can traditional healthcare compete?

We've been actively working to identify the best innovations in technology to support the independence and individual needs of those we serve. Ōmcare is what we’ve been looking for.

– Brett Anderson, SVP and Chief Ecosystem & Operations Officer at Ecumen

The need and solution

Loss of independence is a fear for many, and the pressure to find the right care be significant and stressful—especially for aging adults or people with ongoing mental or chronic health concerns.

The Ōmcare Home Health Hub engages family and healthcare professionals to help manage medication and provide the necessary remote care and connection in the home.

Aging in place

The US Department of Commerce projects the number of adults older than 75 will double by 2040.1 Assisted living technology enables transitional care, and can allow more seniors to stay home longer.

Chronic conditions

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) cites that nearly half of Americans have at least one chronic condition.2 Living at home offers comfort to all ages of people with chronic conditions.

Mental health

The National Institute of Health reports that about 26% of adults have one or more diagnosable mental disorders.2 For this population, having an everyday connection with an advocate offers stability.

A growing population and caregiver shortage

While the aging population continues to grow, caregivers are diminishing
– leaving opportunities to integrate technology into the solution.

Operational efficiency

Dispense

It does more than sort pills. It accurately dispenses easy-to-open pouches of multi-dose medication at the right time.

Interact

Efficient communication is possible with an interactive interface that allows for video calling and visual confirmation of medication adherence.

Inform

Dispensing data and video observation enable reporting when doses are missed or taken incorrectly, rather than depending on self-reporting.
